Group for the Rootless of Watford (GROW)

Aim to relieve hardship & distress of homeless men aged 25-60, in Watford, by providing accommodation & support. Operate a 9-bed hostel and a move-on 4-bed house.


Herts Health Action with the Homeless (HHAH!)

HHAH! promotes the health of homeless people of all ages. Supports homeless people with mental health and substance misuse issues through support workers and counselling service, trains front line workers on health issues that affect homeless people.


Herts Young Homeless Group, (South Project)

Enables young people to secure and maintain appropriate accommodation through prevention, crisis intervention and resettlement. Provides crashpad beds, mediation and dual diagnosis work.


Hightown Praetorian and Churches Housing Association (HPCHA) Young Peoples Housing Service

Works with young people aged 16-22 in a supported housing environment to empower them to move on to independent living.

Watford Borough Council chair the POsH meetings and has a statutory responsibility to ensure that homeless people who are in priority need are housed.  They have a strategic role in the prevention of homelessness, details of which can be seen in the Homeless Strategy and Review documents on the councils website.


Watford New Hope Trust

WNHT is a Christian charity providing support to homeless and vulnerable people in Watford.  The Trust operates several schemes including a Nightshelter, a drop-in Day Centre and Temporary Accommodation.

Watford & Three Rivers PCT co-ordinate health care services in the local community.  'Primary Care' refers to the professional body you will initially be in contact with (for example - GP, Practise Nurse, Health Visitors, Dentists etc)

Watford Women's Refuge offer safe and supportive temporary accommodation to women and children threatened with or escaping domestic violence.


Watford and District YMCA

The hostel in Watford, offers Temporary Accommodation to both men and women aged 18yrs+.  With over 100 single rooms spread across 10 storeys, the YMCA is the biggest hostel in Watford.

Operates the properties which previously belonged to Watford Borough Council
